I have a job with a bunch of 24VDC lights for a fountain. Do the power supplies need to be class 2? I don't see anything mentioned. Class 2 would completely change the size of the panel needed and price point. Thanks.

Class 2 power supplies are only good for <100 VA each so if they had to be class 2 you might need more power supplies.

I don't think they are required to be class 2 though.

The only thing class 2 really gets you is some relaxed installation requirements, but I don't know if they apply to bodies of water.

Part V of Article 680 does not have any voltage restrictions unless the fountain has water in common with a pool.
Thank you

We use Class 2 for splash pads with DMX lighting but I wasn't sure on fountains and didnt see a requirement for it. Going Class 2 I would need 10 power supplies 3.6" wide to only needing 2 regular power supplies 2.5 inches wide and 1 power supply 1.5" wide. Gets very expensive both on the power supplies and the enclosure.
