I am an electrical contractor Bidding on a condo with 38 units to changeout all 100 amp breakers just behind the meter at the meterbank location.
My question is for contractors the dealt with same issue as Insurance wants condo association to replace breakers. Were you required to replace the main disconnect switch as well ? Also the label on equipment is 1200 amps (i am assuming that is the rating for bus bars copper )but service is only being fed by three 500mcm cables . Thats 400 amp service (380 amps).
What size replacement disconnect switch should be installed.
Condo ass will not let me shut down the power to see if the disconnect switch is fused or not. I am assuming it is not.. but you know what happens when you assume.
Any input would ne appreciated
