FR Clothing Acid Resistant

I am a maintenance technician in a battery manufacturing plant. We are required to wear FR clothing because of the electrical troubleshooting we perform. Our clothing is immeadiately eaten by the acid we are also exposed to. Does anyone know of NFPA 70E FR clothing that will tollerate our acid environment?:?

Anything cotton based and treated will not work, any aramid fiber (Such as Nomex III-A) will hold up well to battery acid.

You need to wear additional protection for the acid (acid aprons, etc), If your work environment exposes you to acid and the acid is eating away your clothing then you got big problems that need further evaluation and control.

At Hercules we used wool jackets which were very acid resistant. Clothing (overalls) was cotton treated with a FR compound in the plant laundry. We also used GoreTex based PPE when handling acid directly, but it wasn't very sturdy. It's been 20 years, so I'm sure improvements have been made.
