Anyone have a table already done for a FLC of a single phase fractional horsepower motor? Or, what is the standard procedure to calculate it? I believe the code says to interpolate. Is it standard to graph it out and then pick the point closest to the fractional horsepower or can you do it by ratios of the nearest horsepowers. For instance, a 1/20 hp motor, table 430.248 does not list a FLC for this size motor.

My square d calculator goes down to 1/6 HP at 4.4 amps.

Below that, I usually just throw a wild guess at it and move on. I would probably use 2 or 3 amps for a 1/20 HP and the same for any motors smaller than that.

It's not really going to make much of a difference unless you are going to put several of them on the same branch circuit.
