I am a novice with a question.
We require our electricians and contract electricians to wear FRC when working on energized equipment.
Our "Clean Room" personnel want the electricians to wear there clean room smocks which I understand to have small metal fibers for grounding.
I cannot justify electricians wearing the smocks.
The question....Is there clean room type FRC per 70E?
Or...should I temporarily contaminate an area for the electricians to do there work and then have the area cleaned for an acceptable clean room condition?
Any experience out there???
Thank you.

Is your concern the smocks are not FR, or that they may be conductive?

70E does not have details on clothing types (just the standards they need to meet). Check with your FR supplier it may be possible to find a combination of products to meet clean room and FR needs.

Hugh at www.arcwear.com did the testing and can give you some details on the clothing performance.
