FRE conduit

Its suppose to be better tahn PVC for some reason.
I have only seen it a couple of times. Once on a bridge, Once in a water plant.
It hasnt caught on as a replacement for PVC. It doesnt produce smoke as toxic as PVC when it burns and I dont think you have to glue it together, and it wont come apart either.
 
I used FRE (fiber duct) recently on a job at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn to feed a Con Ed transformer vault. Also used it at a Transit facility (also coincidentally in Coney Island) a few years back. A twenty foot length of 4 inch can be lifted with a finger. It can't be field bent (to my knowledge) and you couple it with an adhesive similar to PVC.
 
Get you a nice catalogue from Championfiberglass.com.
They make the stuff and have all kinds of nice things to say about it. Much tougher than PVC and you can drive a truck over it. More waterproof than EMT. Smarter than rigid.
