So I got something in the mail yesterday from Schneider offering me a free disconnect switch.

The mailing sent me to this web page where I can request a free sample.

So I requested a sample. A guy called me a little while ago and asked what I wanted. I asked for a 100A thru the door unfused version. The guy said I should get it Monday or Tuyesday.

Interesting.

Well, Schneider, like a lot of equipment vendors, have been brand-labeling rotary disconnect switches from another French company called Socomec . For years, Socomec only sold through Schneider, then they branched out and entered into numerous other branding agreements, then they started selling under their own name as well. So it make sense that Schneider would have decided to stop that arrangement and just make their own, so this would be a way to get them into customers' hands.
