What I think is that there is another power source connected somewhere.
In particular there is a discontinuity in the camera coverage between the time you see that the bottom of the strip is unmodified and nothing is penetrating the countertop under it and the time you see it (or a different strip) sitting flat on the table and ready for testing. We do not even know if it is the same section of countertop that it is resting on.
In all of these YouTube videos you see exactly what the producer wants you to see and nothing more. You cannot interact with it in any way.
I usually just write them off and do not make any particular effort to see what is going on.
PS: I would think that Campfire Chat would be a more appropriate sub-forum than NEC, especially since it is a Euro power strip.
