Frequency of testing job-site GFCI's

We test the GFCI's on our temporary powerboards on our job-sites on a weekly basis. We just started a job with a contractor we have never worked with before and he has informed me that OSHA now requires "daily," testing. I can not find any info stating this as fact. Can anyone help?

Thanks for your help, that is exactly what I was searching for.

In fairness to your GC, OSHA has always said that their standards are minimum standards, and that companies, including GC's have a right to set higher standards. I read in one of these forum articles some time ago that 50% of GFCI's right out of the box were failing. Our company asks (doesn't require, because there's no way to police it) everyone to test GFCI's before use. That doesn't mean one guy goes around testing them all, but everyone tests the one they're using. Better safe than dead.
