I agree that you need to hire a licensed electrician to look at what you have. My guess is that the 10 amp CB's were recently installed during the renovation to get around the AFCI requirement for 15 and 20 amp circuits in the bedrooms.

I wonder if there will be a run on 10A breakers. It never occurred to me there was such a straightforward way to deal with the idiotic AFCI requirements.

I don't think that the 10 amp breakers are listed for branch circuit protection. They are for supplementary protection.

I think the Sq D QO brekaers in 10A are OK for BC. But I know some panelboards don't even have 10A breakers available.

Square D QO breakers have the AIK marked on the front, "10k AIC", and a lot of HOs see the 10 and think its the amperage of the breaker:roll:
