As long as it is at least 18" away from the outside of the fuel dispenser and at least 18" above ground it is permitted. Table 514.3(B)(1)

might want to check the local fire codes. fire marshalls some times have a problem with electrical motors near petrol. 514.3(b)(1) may say O.K. but the fire marshall may have a problem with it. Saftey first. A vacuum cleaner can create a static spark and thats all that is needed to ignite petrol. As far as I know the fire marshall would have the last say in an instalation of that type.
