I need help quick! How do I wire a Ansul fire suppression system to shut down the electrical componets under a fume hood. I need a diagram or some resource(s) that I may reference.

The Ansul should have an aux contact that is used to de-energize a normally open (held closed) relay that feeds the electrical equipment. Relay has to be rated for load controlled, Now what I don't know if this has to be a listed relay for fire supression. Give Ansul a call, they may even have a kit to do the job.

Re: FUME HOOD SHUT DOWN

Don't know if you found your answer, but all of the ANSUL brand systems that I've worked on, already had (2) contactors installed in the cabinet. They have always been labled as to which fan (ie. exhaust or intake) was to go to which contactor. They have also had enough contacts to add an additional remote contactor to shut off, say, a 3phase griddle.

Additionally, all terminals have been labled as to lights and 120/240v in etc.

Other brands such as KIDDEE and some others have always had a wiring diagram inside the cabinet.

Is this a new unit or an existing one??
