I do work on movable bridges which have four roadway traffic gates. Each gate is controlled from the bridge house by the PLC. The wiring to the gate housings consist of a motor feed, traffic bell, flashing lights, enclosure space heater, enclosure service light and receptacle, and limit switch wiring. I consider the traffic bell, flashing lights, and limit switch wiring to be Class 1 signalling wiring. All the wiring enters the bottom of the gate housing where there are doors for servicing.
So the question is would all this wiring be considered "functionally associated" (725.48 (B) (1) (2008) and allowed to be installed in one conduit? On some bridges I've seen the wiring separated and on some combined.
Thanks for your input,
WJH
