had a job last week where the service had to be moved nearer to the transformer by 70'. poco came out and moved the pole in, and dropped a center pole that was between the service and x-former. the customer asked if he could have the 100' of triplex they cut out (poles weren't in straight line) to run down to the shop to feed his welder. poco employee says, "oh, you can't run a welder on aluminum." loaded it up in the truck and left. i stuck that one in the back pocket to use myself one day.
