Assuming they are really fuse reducers and not plumbing fittings you should be all set.

We have used a lot of them, one of the customers always asked for a fused switch one size larger than needed so every fused switch had reducers.

Are fuse adaptors legal? Say, if i need to put a 50 amp/ 600 volt fuse in an existing 100 amp switch, will this pass inspection?

Is the fuse adaptor UL listed for use with the 100a switch? Contact the switch manufactured to get the info. direct from the horse's mouth.

It is extremely unlikely that the switch would have been tested with any specific fuse or adapter. The UL test for enclosed switches involves the use of generic 'umbrella' fuses.

The manufacturer to check with would be that of the fuse reducer and the fuse.

I would then understand that should the switch manufacturer be asked that they would then direct you to the fuse manufacturer that would have knowledge of the components that would be required to comply with UL.
