I need to tap off a 2500A generator bus for 100A of lighting and receptacle power. The closest place I have for a disconnect is about 35 feet away, so I can't legally use unfused tap conductors.

There is an empty compartment above the generator ACB cubicle that contains some instrument transformers and low voltage terminal strips. Any code conflicts with putting a 600V 3P fuse block in there?

This is utility owned equipment, but we're the utility, so no worries there. :D Thanks.

I know the NEC doesn't apply to utility installations, but I sure don't think it hurts to try and maintain compliance.

I couldn't find any conflicts in '08 code, but I thought someone else might see something.
