I am thinking of getting an Electric vehicle. The only way for it to be realistic is to home charge.
The problem, I have a fuse box no breakers. Do I have to upgrade my electrical box or can I add
a 240V outlet as is? I know some fuses have 35 amp or more. I know 45 amp 240V is recommended,
it will just not charge as fast less amps. This is 2 family home, the apt upstairs has 240v for a stove
already so I am thinking I get a 240v outlet installed.

How much to upgrade to breakers ballpark?

The answer would be specific to your individual situation.
An electrician can evaluate the status of your electrical system and advise.
