Fuse on the neutral conductor

Is there a section in NFPA 70 or CSA 22.1 that prevents me from using a fuse on the neutral conductor. I thought that this would be an obvious safety hazard but I cannot find code that prevents us from doing this.

In the NEC it is covered under 240.22, I can't help with the Canadian rules.
