Fuse Protection

We own a self storage facility. We have security cable pulled between two buildings at a distance greater then 140'. Are these cables required to be fused once they enter the building. I have damaged monitors and cameras and the cables are not currently fused.:confused:

I doubt fusing the cable would protect the monitors and cameras from whatever is damaging them, nor is it generally necessary.

I suspect you will need to hire someone competent in this area to do some investigating and find out just what is going on.

I can't see how a fuse would have helped in this scenario. Perhaps you need surge protection or lightning protection on these cables. Also examine the grounding sytem to ensure proper installation.
