I am looking for some assistance on best practices for installing a 30A manual transfer switch, or 2, into a residential system. The property has a 200 amp service with the main panel feeding a 100amp sub panel. The sub panel is located next to the main panel inside the home. There are several circuits in the main panel and several in the sub panel that I want to have backup available for. Would it be better to use 1 transfer switch and feed into it from both the main and subpanel or would it be better to actually have 2 separate transfer switches with 1 feeding the main and 1 feeding the sub panel? The solar generator and the gas generator have 30A outputs so I am limited to 30A. If I did use 2 separate transfer switches, if that is even possible could they both fed at the same time with the solar powering one and the gas generator powering the other? If you are feeling overly generous and want to send a diagram that would be awesome!! Thanks for the feedback
