Fuses or manual starter

I have a customer that wants to replace the motor protection in a control cabinet from fuses to a manual motor switch. Will the manual motor switch (for example Sq D GV2P16) give the same protection?

Are the fuses being used for overload protection or short-circuit-g-f protection ?
Normally a motor requires both.

Each motor comes off the distribution block to fuses then to a starter with an overload then out to the motor.

Yes a GV2 can be used in place of fuses.

It actually can either way, with or without an OL relay. It IS the OL relay and the SC protection.
