Howdy,

For an outdoor switchboard (cable/conduit entry from the bottom), how does one allow for circuits to be installed on day-2? An indoor switchboard (usually) can have day-2 conduits or cables enter from the top or side, but an outdoor switchboard doesn't have this luxury. I'd imagine you'd have to install spare conduits day-1 or some sort of trench. Any experience/ideas?

Thanks!

I would not be inclined to worry all that much about what might happen down the road. It is not a code requirement to try and guess what changes might need to be made in the future.

OTOH, if you know there is a likelihood of some specific changes being made down the road, and the customer is willing to pay for it, it might make sense to accommodate such changes, understanding that it is likely that what you do to accommodate such changes will turn out to be inadequate or not especially useful. :)
