I'm trying to identify a piece of electrical equipment on a current project. The name plate says "G&W 7.5 KV 3 Pole 6 Way Link Box 500 AMP #UES5472J0-1 CAT. AL6355M. Building was constructed in 1973. This is in a main electric room at the penthouse level of a 33 story office building. Within the room are 4160V substations, dry type transformers, and 480/277v 3 phase 4 wire switch gear. The equipment is in metal enclosure with bolts on top at fairly close spacing, and there appears to be a small amount of oil or other substance leaking out of the bottom. I have attached a couple of photos. Thanks for any assistance.

By analogy to a three way splitter being one input and three outputs, I would throw the SWAG that the box contains a three phase bus array with one set of input terminals and six sets of output terminals. And no disconnects or OCPD.

Thank you for your input.

John 120/240, I also found G&W electric, but I couldn't find anything on their website that looked anything like my photographs...

GoldDigger, that sounds pretty reasonable... I found the original plans from 1973 and it is labeled "cable tap box #2". Original one-line shows two taps going in and four taps going out, which may explain the "6-Way" on the name plate label.
