Galvanized pipe as electrode

The existing 100 amp service has a 3/4" water pipe driven into the ground as the grounding electrode.Connected with ground clamp and #8 solid Copper Service is also bonded to gas, hot, and cold pipes. Should I add one or two ground rods to make it safer?

Take a spin through Article 250 part III, and especially .62. If nothing else, if the pipe isn't at least 8' long, it doesn't count.

You may need to drive two rods to make the installation compliant.
