A 3/4" galvanized pipe driven into the ground has a ground clamp on it with #8 running to the grounding terminal. I am not changing this 100 amp service. Should I add two copper ground rods to make the service safer?

No. Technically, you need to add one, and it can simply be jumpered from the existing 3/4" pipe.

In other words, yes, a 3/4" galvanized pipe is an acceptable electrode.

Or if able to measure it at 25 ohms or less it can remain as is. If you don't want to bother measuring a single supplemental electrode is all that is necessary. Could even be a second 3/4 galvanized pipe.
