Just wondering what your preferred method is for this scenario? When running PVC underground into the garage to feed the panel do you:

A. Run the pipe directly into panel

B. Switch over to FMC then into panel

C. Pipe into a junction box then use ser cable

I know this thread could go on for ever and there are a million different situations and limitations, but I was just curious as to what methods you guys use for a residential detached garage about 50 feet from the main panel, flat ground and no difficult obstacles. Personally I always go with A or B. As a side note UF is out of the question because the homeowner is a smart man and wants oversized PVC just in case for the future. Looking forward to seeing what you guys use!

My choice is pipe directly into the panel. I really see no reason to do it any other way.

I agree with A all the way, I just wanted to see if there was another method that was cheaper and easier. After all, lowering cost is the name of the game, like pulling one of the afci homeruns to the basement smoke. Switching over to flex in some cases is not a bad idea, I know its not over six feet so I see no problem( which inspectors look for around here lighting or not they look for it 348.20). If you are good at what you do you can make any installation look good!
