Gas Fireplace

I have to add a recp. for a gas fireplace for the blower. Its on the 2nd floor and only way to get there is to pipe outside along the chimney then bore a hole into the old fireplace.

Question is, I am going to use PVC to go along the chimney but when I bore in should I change over to flex and let a recp lay behind the fireplace incloser.

nothing in the manifacture specs say anything...

its not going to lay but be mounted to the back of the chimney but has anyone done this before? I wasn't comfortable using PVC inside behind the incloser that why I will change over to flex...

I would just run UF in the conduit... but thats just me... ;)
