The specifications require motors suitable for Zone 2 with gas group IIA classification. However, the vendor has proposed Exde (flameproof) motors certified for gas group IIC, which offers a higher safety rating than IIA. While IIC is technically superior, it comes at a higher cost. My concern is that if I accept the IIC motors now, future replacements would also need to be IIC-certified to ensure dimensional compatibility.
I prefer to avoid locking into IIC motors unless necessary. How commonly available IIC-rated motors are in the market? If a replacement is needed later, would IIC motors typically be readily accessible as standard inventory, or might there be delays in procurement?
