gas pipe

mdp is located 500 feet away from where gas line enters the building. no way for me to get a ground from mdp over to it. the gas line runs to three different locations for heating furnaces but since the electricians felt that the metal raceway was sufficient enough and didn't pull an additional ground in the the conduit along with the circuit (now 30 years have gone by and pipe has become loose from coupling, connector, etc,) i have lost continuity on my egc and putting a bonding bushing and then running a bonding wire on over to the pipe is useless. at what locations does the gas pipe have to be bonded. point of entrance or where it finally terminates. gas line was put in 1980 and i don't no if it is csst pipe?

T. 250.66 deals with GEC not EGC. If there is a gas furnace or gas equipment that is fed with power then the EGC will automatically bond the gas piping.

Are you sure there is no power installed to any point on the gas line?

not if the egc is the metal raceway and over a period of thirty years has come loose from the connector, coupling, etc. you have lost your continuity and egc all together.

since i have no egc because of loose connections on the metal raceway, if i drive a ground rod and bond the gas pipe at point of entrance, will this meet 2008 code?

No driving a ground rod will do nothing to satisfy the code. Can you pull an egc in one of the raceways (nearest one).
