Gas powered pool heater

Would a gas powered pool heater, located over 20' and out of sight of the pool require a GFI breaker?

It does not need to be on a GFCI breaker.

My gas powered pool heater does not require electric, so it does not require a GFCI.

A gas pool heater normally would not require a GFCI breaker at all unless cord and plug connected and 120V. If it is cord and plug connected, then it would have to be GFCI'd if the receptacle is outside, or within 20' of the pool.

You will, however, have to extend the #8 bonding wire to its chassis.
