I'm looking for any info I can find on this busduct. Unit was manufactured in the 60's. I have a basic L on the configuration. We can break the bus inside the xfmr and outside of the sub-station. But the clearance looks impossible to achieve.

Contact GE with pictures and exact measurements --they can build you a few sections --but you better get ready for the cost!!!

You have been there, I could not believe what I paid for a few sections of busway, more than the entire run cost originally.

But have you ever tried to make your own. DIFFICULT, so you pay the piper.

Yes, I have been there and when you say "busduct emergency" you can see the "dollar signs" light up in your supplier's eyes! I don't know why but after a while we were always called by buildings, supply houses and other contractors to handle busduct replacement. Each time we had a new manufacturer or amperage rating, we would build up new jumper couplings for that particular busway. My warehouse looked like a "used bus duct yard". The worst was when a building lost a 4000 amp vault stub at 4:00pm and we had the building back on line at 7:00am the next morning. Took 8 - 500 mcm cu per phase to handle the load -- the run was 110 feet and ran it across the floor and built a plywood cover to protect the cables-- i had underestimated the load and the cables were heating up--so we built a ventilation fan assemble to blow air thru the plywood chase to cool the cables. It ran this way for three months until replacement parts could be manufacturered and delivered. We had to order the vault stub and a complete 4000 amp main switch --then dis-assemble the original switch "in place" --dis-assemble the new switch and re-assemble it "in place"! I hired two top notch factory men to work with us and we did the job over a three day holiday---quite a job! Everything fit perfect!!!
