I’m not familiar with GE starters. What are the settings on the reset button on this RT22H?

M and A are for manual or automatic reset. Not all that many applications where automatic reset is a good idea though.

Not certain what the -O is about though.

The only way it will run is in the position shown in the picture which is turned all the way down but not on any of the settings

M = Manual Reset with Stop

M-O = Manual Reset AND Stop

A-O = Automatic Reset WITHOUT Stop

A = Automatic Reset AND Stop.

I don't know exactly what that means for sure though. What I THINK it means, is that the "AND Stop" issue is that the Reset button can also act as a Stop button, i.e. functionally in series with any other Stop device in that you can walk up to an external Reset plunger and when you push it, it opens the OLR contact and drops out the contactor.

Side note: your dial setting is not on any of those functions, so it might be interfering with how it operates.

Thank you!

I find your final comment interesting because it won’t run in any of the settings. May need to replace the relay. I’m heading back to try again

I got it running in M but only after I pressed the test button and reset...weird

Thought they all worked that way.. set it, and hit test to restart the functions inside.. like restarting a computer after an update

It is. But I suspect that because that dial had been over tweaked, he had to run it through a trip/reset cycle to get it right again.

It might also mean the contacts are sticking. As cheap as those things are, I would replace it before it fails to protect your motor and the cost goes a lot higher.
