I'm installing a main switchgear in an enclosed room at a new school. The gear is rated at 1600 amps. There is only a single door entrance into this room. Is there a code that requires double doors for rooms that have a service over 1000Amps? Thank you.

110.26(C)(2). It applies if the equipment is rated 1200 amps or above, AND is more than 6 feet wide, AND contains overcurrent devices. There are two exceptions, but it's best if you read them carefully yourself (they are a bit tricky).
