Generac 22KW Generator advice

Hello. New to this forum. I'm a big 3 maintenance/construction electrician. A few questions on a installation I may be helping a friend with.
1) 3/0 copper for 200 amp portion?
2) #3 for 100 amp portion?
3) Since there are two panels downstream of the old main panel will I need to separate grounds and neutrals and remove any bonding screws in these downstream panels unless they already are? Will ground rods be required for these downstream panels if they don't exist?
4)I don't believe there are any ground rods for the current 200amp main panel. Should those be installed for the transfer switch as it will become the new main panel?

Thank you for any help. I've not dealt with this install being in a factory.

#3 I would suggest looking at the generic wire for this set. It has all the control wires included and is rated for where your putting it, and they are color coded for the terminals.
only way it would be simpler is to have someone else do it…
 
I was asked by my friend to help him out. Apparently he did have someone lined up to do the job but they backed out.
I'd like to help him out. I believe he ordered this generator right from generac. He said it comes with the outdoor rated transfer switch. My concern really is the proper grounding of the entire system. His underground service comes into a meter socket that is attached to a wood structure. Next to it is his main panel. He has underground feeds going to his house (75-100 ft away) and his work shop (50 ft away). That really is all I know. Maybe I should really look and see what the task ahead entails.
Just for clarification the transfer panel becomes the main. The main panel becomes a sub panel and the grounds and neutrals need to be separate. Would this apply to the panel in the house and shop.
Of course this friend is 5 hrs away. I wont know much more till I stop later in week or next week. Are pictures allowed on this forum?

If your ats is service rated you do your bonding there. You separate the grounds and neutrals in what was you main. The other 2 panels if they are done correctly will already be seperated

It would be a good learning experience.
I installed my own and while I took WAY more time with mine than was needed, I realized why these guys that do this often can knock one out a day with no problem.
 
When we did Generacs for big Orange years ago, the contractor that was doing them, was taking almost a week with two guys, and was way behind. We got them down to less than a day turnkey. (Fully functional when we left) We had three two man crews, and I would drop off the generator from the warehouse, and solve any irregularities on site for the crews.
