Local electrician installed my 20 KW Generac about 10 years ago. He retired a few years ago and moved to Florida. I've been changing oil and filter since and it's been running fine. I was away last week on biz and of course that's when things happen. Wife said huge lightning strike in back yard. So when I got home on Friday and opened genny cover and LCD was blank. First thing I checked was 7.5 AMP fuse and it was blown. I replaced the fuse but now when I switch to Auto it says 'Utility Loss Delay' and after 10 seconds it wants to start up. She said even though there was the lightning strike we never lost power and the genny is tied to a lightning rod.

Any ideas what to look at next?

thanks in advance.

Check whether there is/was another fuse on the sense lead connected to POCO power on the service side of the ATS. If that input to the controller has the expected voltage on it, then the controller itself may have been damaged.

And with that said, you should contact a local Generac dealer/service company.
