In a nutshell.. I am in an ag environment and have a large solar array that backfeeds the grid via a Tesla gateway. My system has 3 Tesla Powerwall batteries. The Tesla setup backs up a barn and farmworker trailer (all on the same meter). I have buried cable between the barn and my residence (which is on a separate meter. I acquired a Generac RXSC100A3 ATS and installed it along with a subpanel to provide backup power to selected house circuits. My house meter provides utility power to the Generac ATS. My Tesla load center in the barn provides emergency power.

When I cut the utility power to the ATS, it does not switch to the emergency lugs. If I manually move the switch, power is switched over to the Tesla battery source and everything is fine. When I switch the utility power back on, the Tesla power is disconnected and the ATS switches back to utility power, as it should.

I know that the Generac ATS is designed to work with a generator, but it seems like I should be able to "fool" the controller into thinking a generator is up and running. I have a feeling that it may have something to do with the leads 23(transfer) and 194(+12VDC) on the ATS "Smart A/C Module".

Can someone enlighten me about the voltages and configuration the Generac ATS is expecting to have the switch solenoid pull down to the emergency source?

(Well, not quite nutshell, but pretty abbreviated.) Thanks.

I would suggest you contact an electrician experienced in generators & Solar. We are not allowed to help those not in the electrical industry per the Forum rules.
