connecting a guardian standby unit 26kw and ATS for a client. First run in manual so I could verify proper voltage was pretty low, like 98/196 ish instead of 120/240 ish. Frequency was 59 so I think speed regulation must be set about right. Am assuming there is voltage regulation that likely can be field adjusted but not sure where or how to adjust it. Thinking it about has to be inside the main controller but if is doesn't look like that was intended to get into very easily, looking for advice before even attempting to open that up.

On line help on generac site won't help me with anything but error codes and such since I'm not a authorized dealer.

Any experience with this sort of issue on these newer models appreciated.

Asked my client to let me know where he bought it from and maybe will try to talk to them, not sure if they are a authorized service place or just some retailer at this time yet.

59 hertz at no load is low to me.
is this an electronic governor?
That's a field adjustment but I don't think it's going to help the low voltage.

59 is a bit low. Check the settings in dealer mode First.

Up, Up, ESC, DN, Up, ESC, Up, ENTER.

T1 fuse blown? Bad cap?

Had contact with a authorized dealer/repair center, told me to check that no wire harnesses have become unplugged from the main controller. Thinking that the engine governor control possibly became unplugged.

He also said 59 hertz too low and at no load it should be like 60.5 or 61. I didn't think voltage would be as low as it is at 59, but maybe so.

Think will get back over there today to check this out.

I figured there maybe some way to get into some diagnostics mode that they won't tell me since not an authorized dealer or service provider.

As Larry said, you could try putting a load on the generator. If the main problem is a lack of excitation, then an electrical load would not put much of a mechanical load on the engine. But if it causes the engine to bog down then the engine throttle/speed control may have a problem. Or there could be a significant restriction on the gas supply.
