In the 2008 code do you have to add the laundry circuit load to the general lighting and appliance load for a multi-family dwelling with laundry facility area on premisis. I don't see the exception the2005 code had.

Even in the 2005 version, you didn?t have to include the laundry circuit with the general lighting load. 220.52(B) allowed it, but did not require it. But neither the 2005 nor the 2008 had an exception to that article. Are you talking about 210.52(F)? If so, the exceptions have not changed. So I have to ask you to clarify your question.

A specific aspect which needs clarified is whether you are talking premises-service or individual-unit feeder calc's...

When you have an available-to-all-tennants laundry area, you are not required to install the laundry receptacle in any dwelling unit itself, nor include it as a load for the its feeder calc'. Actually, the requirement of 210.52(F) is "unrequired" by its Exception No. 2 for all but one-family dwelling units. However, when there is a communal laundry area, its loads (receptacles, connected equipment, etc.) will have to be included in the service calc.
