250.34 Portable and Vehicle-Mounted Generators
(B) Vehicle-Mounted Generators. The frame of a vehicle shall not be required to be connected to a grounding electrode as defined in 250.52 for a system supplied by a generator located on this vehicle under the following conditions:
(1) The frame of the gene rator is bonded to the vehicle frame, and
(2) The generator supplies only equipment located on the vehicle or cord-and-plug-connected equipment through receptacles mounted on the vehicle, or both equipment located on the vehicle and cord-and-plug-connected equipment through receptacles mounted on the vehicle or on the generator, and
(3) The normally non–current-carrying metal parts of equipment and the equipment grounding conductor terminals of the receptacles are connected to the generator frame.

Does a Cam Lock system intergal to the generator apply to (2)?

Many of us seem to think so*, but as they say "scholars differ on the matter". If the AHJ really wants it, I'll put in a couple of rods and move on. If you search the forums, you'll find a few discussions on the matter.

*a female camlok -is- a receptacle

The Camlok connectors I am familiar with are listed to UL498 - Standard for Attachment Plugs and Receptacles. Therefore the female Camlok is by definition a receptacle.

I tend to agree as receptacle is not defined as needing a circuit with H/N/G within the receptacle body. A set of Camloks intergal with a generator are mounted to the same metal plate or a possible definition of yoke.

So would you still not require an electrode if the feeder equipment termination is a lug or a factory receptacle to a remote location?

I am now inquiring if the equipment has to be cord and plug connect or can the equipment supplied be hardwired. If my feeder terminates into remote panel lugs do I need an electrode for the generator?
