Generator circuit breaker

Installing a new generator on existing steel on top of a roof. The generator will be located above the roof approx 5'. there is concern that the generator circuit breaker will be above the 6'-7" aloowance but I believe we would be covered by 240.24(4) if we exceed 6'-7". Thoughts?

Yes. I agree the unit disconnect switch/circuit breaker would not have to meet the 6'7" height limitation based on the section referenced by you and 404.8(A) exception, even though the wording doesn't exactly match the installation details.
