Generator classification

We recently purchased a natural gas generator at auction for a black start stand by unit at our batch plant. it is enclosed and ventilated thru the top of the unit. The main breaker is mounted in such a way that it is not partitioned off from the engine cabinet. The generator is not a Class 1 generator. Can the unit be wired as a permanent standby as is? Or will the breaker have to be moved to allow for proper classification?

What class 1 are you referring to? Hazardous Class 1? Breaker in or out will not make it Class 1 for Hazardous.
