I have a generator contractor who wants to use a Bridgeport sealing ring on a PVC fitting. This would be entering on the top of a transfer switch. We requested the UL testing data which the contractor says they cannot get.

Would you allow it as a electrical inspector or plans examiner?

UL is not going to give you any testing data. That is confidential between UL and the device manufacturer.

All they will tell you is if it passed a specific standard.

It is listed for use as a seal between a connector and a box. If your fitting is a male adapter, then it would be a connector.

Depending on the transfer switch, it may not be listed for top entry, regardless of the connecting method. (Every one I've installed It didn't allow overhead entry.)

If this is an ATS there are too many electronic components that can be damaged with entry of water for me to even consider, compliant of not. Seen to many leaking overhead entry on a meter base even with appropriate connectors, years after install.
