Generator control wires

The Generac manual says that they can be in the same conduit if the length is under 30 feet, but I wondered if this was adapted from actual NEC or if they made it up. Anyone put their control wires in the generator feeder conduit? I could throw on a 1/2" for good measure but hate to do it if there is no need. iTs a 20Kw gen with a 200a trnasfer switch and a couple control boards.
 
We were looking at a similar setup for a fire department here in Colorado Springs.
I will tell you that under NO circumstances would I combine them... Not only that, Generac would not let us do so. (Funny, they allow it on 1 system, and do not on another system.)

I want NO chance of cross talk, induced voltages, or noise generated by an induced current running parallel to my system...

I understand, this is only my opinion...
 
Thanks B4T, it does help, although the power limited thing still kind of hangs in the air...

Hate to fail and have to pull another, but since you passed, I may go for it.

Two pet peeves for me so far are the neutral terminal being too small for 1 ga. wire, IMO and the battery is not included (like toys) and there is not an easy way to figure out where to get it. their site does not mention the battery, and I am still pouring over the manual in the hope of finding the form factor listed for it. Cmon, Generac!
 
It's a 26R battery sold in any auto parts stores. By beef with GENERAC is they don't put lugs on the neutral or ground stud. That is dumb!! :mad:
