I asked about connecting a residential generator recently. I was looking to connect a 15kw temp generator to have the ability to utilize the full output of the genny.
The result was anything over 50A I'd have to go to a pin and sleeve $$$ setup. Not economically viable.
The other thought I had was to install my manual transfer setup outside the house and come out of that enclosure with a 6/4 sj cord that would have a male cord cap to plug into the genrator as needed.
I think 400.8 would prohibit that. Am I thinking correctly? Would you consider this to be a "substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure"?
