generator cord set

i will be installing a interlock kit (k-8110) to a ge singlephase load center with a pb30 at the remote loc for the generator cordset. however the generator is an older coleman w a 120v/15a(5-15R) duplex and 240v/20a
(6-20R)duplex. i havent checked the voltage between the 2 15a to see if there is 220 available or the n-g bond on the generator at this time but of course will do so before applying a load. my question is, have any of the pro's (members of MHF)seen or used this type of cord set

In my opinion, this cord set

will violate 406.6(B).

Once in use if you unplug one of the 5-15Ps the prong will be live from a back feed through the loads.

if 1 5-15 became unpluggedfrom the generator wouldnt that disconnect that phase on the load center leaving just 1 phase powered.
so backfeed could occur from the 220 loads?

Yes, any 220 volt loads left on, such as a water heater, stove or water pump would backfeed to the loose plug.

with that in mind i see no use for this product
I'll advise the h/o the current generator is insufficient for the application and could be used as a ext cord supply to individual loads

Bands use them all the time. Allows them to energize their 240v roadie panels with two 120v receps.

Why not just make a cord with a 6-20P male end and a female end that fits the panel?

The equipment the panel supplies is going to run a bit funky without a neutral.

Ah, a 6-20 is 240v and EGC only?

Okay, if the genny circuitry includes a neutral, how about adding a 120/240v + EGC receptacle?

How about the receptacle configuration in Bob's pic? Is that an L-20R?
