I am aware that grounded conductor from normal service needs to be brought to the service disconnect feeding fire pump ATS controller.

The question is what about generator side feeding fire pump? I have generator and its breaker one enclosure feeding the fire pump ATS controller.

I have had the same situation a couple of times in the last few years where they wanted a neutral (grounded conductor) pulled from the vault, but I pulled the generator feed with no grounded conductor and had no issues. Im told the purpose for wanting a grounded conductor pulled from the vault is to give the system a ground reference since the neutral is not bonded in the vault. If you have a 3phase y connected generator and you have bonded the neutral conductor on the generator, it should not be necessary for you to take the neutral(grounded conductor) to the fire pump controller.
