Hey all, I've got a Olympian (appears to be) model G45LG2… which is owned by CAT but its made by Generac. So getting anything that matches up or anything from CAT even is this far just a nightmare.
There’s no NEMA plat on the motor, just a sticker.
Its rated 42kw but I think its de-rated based on sales competition maybe?? I dunno, the whole thing is stupid.
Back ground, I bought this at auction in 2020 with plans to use it but they have yet and may not come to fruition.
Its got what appears to be 267hrs on it, its a 4.5L v6, production 6/2011
Its set up to run natural gas, it has a manual (which I cant find of course) I want to run it on propane. Should be at most a regulator/orifice tube to swap it over. Maybe some programming. I dont know because I am still waiting on CAT.
I do vaguely remember reading something about it when i got it and it was no big deal.
Its single phase 42kw 200amp breaker rated output is almost 190a
If anyone knows about the conversion on these that would be awesome!!!
I opened everything up to try and get numbers, something i could use to go through generac instead.
The generator motor looks to have 4 poles, 2 bonded at top and L1 and L3 on either side.
Its set up single phase, I am actually about to build a rotary converter to test some things for sale, can this be setup for 3 phase 208/220??
That would be a huge Win for me right now.
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!
