I'd like to add a generator inlet port and have been looking for mechanical interlock kits for my Siemens MC3040MB22B combination meter/panel. I wasn't able to find any compatible ones from Siemens. There are however a couple of aftermarket ones.
https://www.natramelec.com/genswitch/m/m2/m2.htm Needs top two spaces on left side for the generator feed
https://interlockkit.com/product/crouse-hinds-murray-kit-k-7010/ Needs top two spaces on right side for the generator feed
The kicker is that Siemens Technical Support confirmed that there is no OEM interlock kit available and that using an aftermarket one will void the UL certification :-(
What are the risks of going ahead with an aftermarket kit?
Thanks
P.S.: The 200A main breaker lines up with the right column of load breakers and has a hump.
