I have a customer who wants a generator. The inspector is asking for a load calculation. I have never done one before and when i google search i do not get any results that help me. l used to use kohlers load calculator but it seems they have taken it away from their site. Any input is appreciated. Thank you!

Is he going to want the entire house on it, or a select few circuits? Automatic or manual transfer? Automatic load shedding while on generator?

Do the calculations as you would if it's a new service, minus the shed loads. That will give more than adequate size of generator. I suspect what you are shedding will not be worth the effort. Your transfer switch will need to be rated for the typical NEC service calculation for the dwelling. Check your copy of the NEC.
