I thought that I read somewhere on here that a company made a generator load shed module. It was something like a 50A module that you could use on a range circuit and the generator would open the circuit before it would become overloaded. I am installing Briggs and Stratton Whole House Generators and can't locate these units. Does it go by another name other than load shed module? I am using the Briggs and Stratton SE rated ATS units with ACCM - A/C control module which also has another normally closed contact for additional load shedding. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Not for Briggs

Not for Briggs

The load shedding is only available for the GE brand, I think you would be more happy with GE, its the same as Briggs with way more options. Load shedding of up to 8 220 v. loads and unlimited lock out of any circuit up to 50 amp load, 120v or 240v. GE is assembled at the Briggs and Stratton plant. The other difference is GE has a 5 yr part and labor warranty, useful against competitors. Easy sell to the customer. GE also has wireless monitoring for generator faults. The load shed modules come in LV for AC and High Voltage for loads like Range, WH, or any 120 volt loads needed to be managed.
I use to own a generator company in NH, hence the product knowledge. Check out GE online, much more on their web site to learn about. If your interested in generator monitoring I can help with that also. Get emails, txt messages when your customers gen goes into any fault.
